You can craft and maintain clockworks. Clockworks are mundane, mechanical contraptions powered by springs, gravity weights, and the like. Clockworks tend to be weaker, but more delicate/precise/smaller than similar Steam contraptions. They also don’t require fuel but do require frequent “winding”.
This skill, by itself, does not allow you to create magical devices of any sort.
You can craft and maintain Firearms, firearm ammunition and blackpowder, alchemical cartridges, firearm Siege Engines, Bang Powder, Flash Powder, and all Grenade, Fuse.
With 10 ranks you treat non-siege Firearms as Simple weapons.
You can craft and maintain steam powered contraptions. Such as Steam Weapons, steam vehicles, steam generators, and other steam items. Steam items are heavy, hot, require fuel, and tend to explode when damaged.
This skil, by itself, does not allow you to create magical devices of any sort.
With 10 ranks you treat Boltguns as Simple weapons and Chainswords and Ripsaws as Martial weapons.

Applies to “sailing” Aerial Vehicles as well as watercraft. But you should probably take ranks in Profession (Fleet Militia) instead.
You are a volunteer in The Fleet‘s defense force.
Note
If you are non-Chaotic you may start with one free rank in Profession (fleet militia).
Can substitute for Profession (sailor) when operating Aerial Vehicles. Any bonuses to Profession (sailor) you have apply to these checks.
Can substitute for Diplomacy (Use Charisma mod) to improve the attitude of Fleet personnel and when gathering information on the Fleet. Any bonuses to Diplomacy you have apply to these checks.
While on the Fleet you have equivalent of free “Average” Lifestyle. That is you may requisition any item of 1gp or less in d10 minutes from home, ship stores, etc. And don’t have to pay for any lodging, meals, taxes of 1gp or less. Increases to “Wealthy” at 10 ranks and “Extravagant” at 20.
